Everyone came together at the end for a massive game of semi contact. The two hookers practised their throwing by throwing balls into a small circle supported on a pole and really showed what skill they have. The players came to the fans after the training sessions to sign autographs and take pictures with the public. I was sitting at the back so there wasn’t much space to get in with the players but I know some of the guys were able to get a quick picture or autograph from the players. It was disappointing not to get a picture, but I am sure there will be another opportunity. It was great to see the Irish team train and see what’s involved with being a professional rugby player. We all hopped on the dart back to CBC after a great day at the Aviva. I would love to attend another training school session sometime in the future!
As for the crowd, most people were eager to get autographs off the players at the end! There were a few flags waving in the stands that were given out for free before the training session as well as a ‘poncho’ which many people found quite funny to wear. It was a bit of craic to be there with all my friends as we were all very excited to meet the players. Eventually the players finished and we got to get autographs. I got a few on my arm as I had nothing else to write on!
